ILTA has been organising LEXPO fair at Kolkata Maidan from 1982 to promote and provide marketing facilities, to keep pace with the latest design and technology and to have better interaction with the domestic buyers.

Prior to 1982 i.e. from 1977 to 1981, ILTA organized Lexpo Trade Fairs for Buyer-Sellers Meet of exportable leather items at five star hotels in Kolkata.

In 2001, LEXPO , Calcutta has completed its SILVER JUBILEE.

To help the tiny, cottage and Small Scale Sector Industries in marketing, LEXPO fair give the exposure for their products. Apart from calcutta for 28 years, ILTA has been holding LEXPO at Siliguri for 10 years and at Bhubaneshwar for 3 years with the same motto. 

LEXPO at Kolkata is organized in the Maidan, opposite Birla Planetarium .It is one of the most popular fairs in Kolkata. Nearly 200 stalls are put up. The fair lasts for 15 days and is visited by around 5 lakhs of people. 

In view of growing demand from the participants as well as the Govt. of Sikkim,Orissa and Karnataka , ILTA set up a LEXPO Secretariat and have held LEXPO fairs at Gangtok and Bhubaneshwar and is planning to organize the same at Bangalore, Chennai, Ranchi, Guahati, Patna, Kanpur.
